 The Show

In this musical based on the popular L. Frank Baum stories, Dorothy and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado and end up in the land of Oz. Wanting to return home to Kansas, she begins to travel to the Emerald City where the great and powerful wizard lives. On her way she meets a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion in need of courage. They all hope the Wizard of Oz will help them, before the Wicked Witch of the West catches up with them.

 From the Director

Hello again, and welcome to the Wonderful World of Oz. I am so excited to begin this journey of a wonderful classic, and can promise we will have a great time. The movie has made this one of the most recognizable and loved musicals of all. Those of you who have worked with me, know I love musicals & love to have fun. I look forward to working with cwACT again, and look forward to seeing you in the "Merry Old Land of Oz"!

This show won't require a lot of dancing, but some chorus members may end up playing multiple roles.

Please have a song prepared, or at least be ready to sing "Happy Birthday". The Vocal Director may also ask you to sing songs from the show, and sheet music will be provided.

All ages are encouraged to try out. However, I ask that parents be mindful that a rehearsal schedule does require commitment, and rehearsals may last until 9 pm or later on some nights.
